Courses

Welcome to Caledonian Clinical Training & Datapharm Australia’s 2010 course options. We will be offering two courses this year:

  1. Our highly regarded “Introduction to Clinical Research” course.
  2. A new “GCP Refresher” course covering recent updates to clinical trial regulation and guidance at a federal and state level. This course will also include interactive workshops on improving process and handling GCP issues to improve site compliance with GCP.

In addition to our open courses we can also run courses specifically for your institution or organisation. If you have 10 or more staff to train, this option provides a number of benefits including the opportunity to provide your own venue, thus decreasing costs, decreased staff travel costs to attend courses and providing the opportunity to include institution or therapeutic area specific issues/requirements. In addition to the “Introduction to Clinical Research” and “GCP Refresher” courses, we also have the following personalised courses available:

  • Clinical Trial Design (particularly suitable for those with a significant involvement in investigator initiated trials)
  • Project Management
  • Time Management
  • GCP Problem Solving

Advantages of face-to-face Training

While computer based training has an important place in the myriad of training options available it also has its limitations and there are a number of well-documented additional benefits to attending face-to-face training compared with online courses including:

  • The opportunity to network with other participants and gain input and ideas from others
  • The added value and entertainment of a live trainer present in the room with you
  • The variety of learning methods that can be employed is much broader in face-to-face training
  • The ability for the trainer to be able to assess participant comfort and interest through observation of body language to adjust course pace, add breaks and change their approach as required
  • It is much easier to ask questions and discuss topics in an interactive way with the trainer and other course members
  • The ability to assess participants’ understanding of key points by observing them working on case studies and exercises
